The Icon New Media Network have put out a new episode of Generation Orthodox, entitled The Great GiveAway.
They address a lot of topics, including a new Bible Study podcast entitled Thy Word, by Fr James Early (a Bible study designed especially for Evangelical Christians who want to know more about Orthodox Christianity) and his upcoming book; a book called Way of the Ascetics; a synopsis of a presentation by a monk, Fr Justin from the monastery on Mt Sinai (which was really awesome), along with a bit of a back story surrounding his presentation.
A centrepoint of the show was a giveaway of children’s books from Potamitis Publishing; followed by many experiences with small children; and then a huge section on the relationship of all of our souls – body, brain, soul – with God, and how our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit – and the fullness of what that means – and how that relates to the Prodigal Son, and how we are both the younger, repentant brother at times and the older brother at times, and must ensure to welcome the younger brother home. Finally, the show ended on Meatfare Sunday, and how the Orthodox celebrate that, and how we are able to fast well, including a blog of fasting recipes.
